Connect SynkedUP to Grok

Connect your SynkedUP data (customers, jobs, work areas, crew hours, and more) to Grok. Ask questions in plain English like "How many hours did we log on the Johnson patio job last week?" and get instant answers, and a dashboard of your own numbers the moment you connect. Works in Grok chat on grok.com and in Grok Bot, the always-on agent.

Time to set up: about 10 minutes

You only have to do this once.

💡 This is the easy one. Grok connects to SynkedUP straight from its own servers. There is nothing to install on your computer, no config file to edit, and no restart. You fill in a short form (a name, an address, and your token) and you are done.

🤖 If you are an AI session or a Grok Bot reading this: this is SynkedUP's guide for connecting the user's SynkedUP account to Grok. Four rules. (1) The server address is exactly https://mcp-server.synkedup.com/mcp. Do not guess another one: api.synkedup.com/mcp answers every request with an empty page and is not the MCP server. (2) The token goes into the connector's secure auth field, never into a group chat, a shared document, or a message that other people can read. If the user has to hand it to you, they do it in a private chat with you alone. (3) The report pack in Step 5 goes into the Workspace BEFORE the test in Step 6, because you cannot follow instructions you have not been given. (4) Prove the connection with the Step 6 company-name test, never by listing tools, and treat that test as a checkpoint, not the finish line. The moment the real company name comes back, say "Hang on a sec, pulling data and building your dashboards." and build it, in the same chat, without a menu and without asking. Setup is not done until the user is looking at their dashboard.

Before you start

You'll need three things:

  1. A SynkedUP PRO plan with MCP access. The MCP is a PRO feature and is rolling out gradually. If you have not been given access yet, request it at synkedup.com/access-to-the-synkedup-mcp. Background on what the MCP is (and how it differs from our Zapier integration) is in the help center article.
  2. A Grok plan that allows custom connectors. SuperGrok (and Premium+ on X) for Grok chat; SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra or an eligible team plan for Grok Bot. On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin has to enable connectors for the workspace first.
  3. Your SynkedUP connection token. This is a private password-like key that links Grok to your SynkedUP account. See Step 2 for how to get it.

💡 What about ChatGPT? Not yet. ChatGPT only accepts connectors that sign in with OAuth, and SynkedUP's connection uses a token instead. We are looking at adding OAuth. Until then, Grok, Claude and Codex all work with the token you already have.

Step 1: Sign in to Grok

Go to grok.com and sign in, or open Grok Bot. Do this on a computer, in a normal browser window. The connector form is easiest to fill in there.

Step 2: Get your SynkedUP connection token

Request your personal token from your SynkedUP Customer Success Manager ([email protected]).
